Kate St. James, FDIA is an interior designer with more than 30 years of experience who co-founded interior design company, St James Whitting in 2016. Along with qualifications in interior design, Kate also studied journalism, leading to her role as Founding Editor of Grand Designs Australia magazine and editor-in-chief of Home Design, Renovate, Outdoor Rooms and several other interior publications. Her specialty is environmentally sustainable architecture and design.

St James Whitting consults to individuals and companies wishing to include eco- friendly, sustainable design into their projects. Their creative kitchen and bathroom designs foster wellness, comfort and safety along with practical and beautiful eco-friendly design solutions for the whole home, inside and out.

Kate’s vision has always been to promote an awareness of sustainable interior design to demonstrate to the wider community the meaningful way it can impact on our lives.
