Join Us for a Designers' Round Table with Dr Caroline Cumberbatch.
KBDi Tasmania members are invited to join us for a relaxed, thought-provoking morning of conversation with fellow designers and respected Tasmanian interior designer Dr Caroline Cumberbatch.
Based in Lutruwita/Tasmania, Caroline brings more than thirty years of design experience across luxury residential projects, hospitality spaces, and even the living quarters at Davis Station in Antarctica.
More recently, Caroline completed a practice-based PhD that explored a challenging question: how does interior design contribute to physical waste while potentially diminishing social and cultural value, and what might a different approach look like?
Her research attracted national attention after its publication in The Conversation in March 2026, leading to interviews on ABC Radio National, RNZ and 2SER.
During this informal roundtable discussion, Caroline will share insights from kitchen case studies, then open the floor for conversation. Together, we'll explore how designers can create spaces that are not only functional and beautiful but also meaningful, enduring and culturally connected.
As this is a pay-your-own-way gathering, you're welcome to order coffee or something light to eat from the café next door.
