Bio

JMJ Interiors is a full-service luxury design studio based in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Drawing on 25 years of global design experience, we create spaces that represent our client’s interest in culture, travel and approachable luxury.

JAN-MARIE JAILLEI, founder and Principal Designer of JMJ Interiors – My clients benefit from international design insights I have acquired while living, working and studying in many of the world’s capitals. I have gained invaluable perspectives on cultures, design styles and trends whilst working in residential design in London, New York, the Middle East and Asia.
I studied Interior Architecture at the prestigious London Inchbald School of Design, Interior Decoration at Chelsea exclusive KLC School of Design and also hold a Diploma of Architectural Feng Shui from the renowned New York Institute of Art. Having spent a total of 27 years abroad, I returned to Darwin in 2015 where I spent my childhood.

I am currently the Deputy Chair for the NT/SA Branch of the Design Institute of Australia and sit on the National Advisory Council for the DIA.

My design philosophy honours the diverse character of the homes and the clients we work with. Specialising in but not limited to, residential interiors. We create beautiful, well thought out spaces that genuinely reflect our clients personality, brand and life stories.
My approach draws on the ancient Chinese science of Feng Shui where harmony between the environment, Interior architecture and the human experience is Paramount.
I take my style inspiration from nature and the natural landscape of my working environment and developing a thorough understanding of my client and their needs.
