Fantastic Kitchen+Bath Show agenda set to inspire and inform

By Selina Zwolsman posted 20-05-2025 09:38 PM

Designers, mark your calendars for 12–14 June 2025. The Kitchen+Bath Show is making its Melbourne debut at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, uniting over 12,500 design and build professionals, more than 250 exhibitors, and over 90 speakers across more than 50 sessions.

A standout feature of this premier event will be the KBDi panel discussions: From Milano to Melbourne: Translating International Kitchen and Bathroom Design Trends for the Australian Market. Moderated by industry expert Frank Iaria, these 40-minute sessions explore the latest global design movements from well-known fairs like EuroCucina and Salone del Mobile. Topics include innovative materials and sustainable surfaces, emerging colour palettes, and the integration of technology in kitchen and bathroom design.

The panels will explore how international trends can be tailored to suit Australia's unique lifestyle, climate, and architectural preferences. Discussions will cover practical considerations such as material suitability for local environments, adaptations in spatial planning, and ensuring that design choices align with Australian cultural nuances.

Attendees will gain insights into balancing contemporary trends with timeless design principles, effectively communicating design concepts to clients, and creating unique spaces that resonate with both global inspiration and local relevance.

Accessible design is an essential aspect that all good designers are integrating into their skill sets and services. While products and resources aimed at addressing physical limitations are becoming more readily available, discussions about designing for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are somewhat harder to come by. In this session, you’ll learn to see through a different (ASD) lens and consider how colour psychology can play a significant role. You’ll hear the first-hand experiences of designer Jo Viney and join her on a journey to create character-filled spaces catering to all kinds of abilities.

About the Speaker

Jo Viney is the principal of the Melbourne interiors studio Brinnie T Design. She’s a mum to two beautiful children and a lifelong learner when it comes to living on the spectrum.
