A message from our Corporate Partner, CASF Corian.

Winner of the 2024 Corian® Design Awards in the residential category, La Casa Curvilínea is truly ahead of the curve with its minimal, modern interpretation of Mediterranean design by the visionary duo, Tyson and Teegan Doherty of Doherty Building Group. This beautiful four-bedroom family home is a symphony of gentle curves, warm hues, and innovative materials. At the heart of this serene abode lies its kitchen and pantry, a testament to the elegance and functionality of Corian® products, seamlessly integrated into the warm and creamy colour palette inspired by the late afternoon sun of the Mediterranean.

“Every facet of the home has been thoughtfully curated to offer a living experience that is not only practical but warm, inviting and visually striking,” says Tyson.

Mastering Material and Design

The project features Corian® Solid Surface across benchtops, splashbacks, an integrated sink, a curved kitchen island, and a bathroom vanity with washplane. Corian® colours, Clam Shell and Witch Hazel enhance the home’s cohesive aesthetic. The island bench, a cantilevered masterpiece, echoes the arches framing the ceiling void, bringing a sense of continuity and flow to the space.

The independent judging panel selected by CASF Australia for the Design Awards, praised the design’s timeless appeal and innovative use of Corian®. Kirsty Duncan noted the "seamlessly integrated furniture," while Mark Saunders highlighted the balance of beauty and functionality. Tania Kloester admired the minimalist curves of the kitchen island and bathroom vanity, showcasing the versatility of Corian®.

Functional Elegance

The kitchen, designed with meticulous attention to detail, incorporates joinery by SCLK and integrated sinks, splashbacks, and benchtops by Newgrove Benchtops. The durability, non-porous nature, and seamless appearance of Corian® make it ideal for a gathering space that embodies functionality and elegance. Its ability to be moulded into fluid forms aligns perfectly with the curvilinear essence of the home.

Beyond the kitchen, Corian® enhances the ensuite vanity and washplane, contributing to the overall calm and refined atmosphere.
