Connect with your clients this Christmas

By Selina Zwolsman posted 21 days ago

With less than ten weeks to go until we wrap up work for a well-earned break, now is a great time to connect with your clients – past and present – in a fun and meaningful way. Here, we’re sharing five simple ways you can reignite your client connections before 2025, and potentially add some new referrals, too.

  1. Send personalized Christmas or holiday greeting cards and gifts
    • Send handwritten cards or small branded gifts (like candles or ornaments) to your favourite clients. Don’t be afraid to go back a few years in your client list. If you completed a kitchen design for Sally in 2020, she might be just about ready to begin that bathroom project and appreciate having your contact details front and centre … ;)
    • Giving a gift related to your services, like a colour consultation voucher or festive design tips booklet, could be a nice touch for your current clients.
  2. Host festive home styling workshops
    • Use your design skills and trend tips to host in-person or virtual workshops on Christmas decor trends, table setting, or wreath-making.
  3. Host exclusive client events
    • Invite your favourite clients to a festive cocktail party or open house at a newly designed space or studio.
  4. Run social media campaigns and competitions
    • Run Christmas-themed design challenges, like ‘Best Decorated Tree’ or ‘Festive Front Doors’ and encourage clients to participate.
    • Share helpful holiday styling tips and ideas via Instagram Stories or Pinterest boards.
  5. Create customised Christmas Packages
    • Offer limited-time services like Christmas tree styling or complete holiday home makeovers.

As designers, we have unique skill sets and lots of creative courage. Ideas like those set out above allow us to show them off while building long-term relationships, recurring clients and potential for new referrals. If you take on any of the above ideas, make sure you share them with us.
