Waterproofing of wet areas has consistently been one of the most commonly recurring major defects reported to Australian building regulators. When waterproofing has been poorly installed and/or drainage is inadequate (with insufficient falls, floor wastes or grates), water or dampness may penetrate and damage the structure of the building, creating enormous problems for the homeowner.
