ACCREDITATION
The assessment of applicants to receive accreditation as a
Certified Kitchen Designer and/or a Certified Bathroom Designer is
undertaken by a National Accreditation Committee appointed by the Board. All
National Accreditation Committee members are required to hold KBDI Designer
accreditation.
The accreditation committee meets twice per year to consider
applications for accreditation from members. Application forms, including
the accreditation criteria, are available from the National Office, local
Chapters and from the members area of the website.
Members who have previously been issued with designer
accreditation by the NKBA, HIA NKBA or HIA Kitchens and Bathrooms are issued
with current accreditation on forwarding a copy of their original certificate/s
to the KBDI National Office.
Accredited Members have their names entered on a membership
register in the category of ‘Designer Member’.
A system of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is
offered by the Institute to ensure KBDI Accredited Designers remain up to
date with industry developments. Designers’ CPD records are maintained by the
National Office.
The Institute has a range of in-depth training catering for
those embarking on a career in Kitchen and/or Bathroom Design
and for working designers who may lack the specialist training
required to reach their full potentials.
Accreditation certificates will be current for one year.
Re-issue of accreditation will occur every year on satisfactory attainment
of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and renewal of KBDI membership.
Whether you have previously been accredited as a CKD or CBD,
have started the accreditation process, or are just starting out, the KBDI
provides a convenient way to achieve current accreditation and enjoy the
benefits of membership.
