ABOUT JUDE PARKIN
Judy’s design experience comes from her 15 years in the industry including several years working overseas in London’s “kitchen lane”(Wigmore street) where London’s most reputable kitchen studios are located.
She is a specialist kitchen designer & her innate design skills and high attention to detail are some of the skills that attribute to the stunning designs done by her. She prides herself on ensuring the satisfaction of happy customers by creating individual personalised designs & material selections and above all, customer service for all her projects.
Through studying an Advanced Diploma of Interior Technology, Judy knew that she wanted to specialise in the Kitchen & bathroom areas for the residential market and started gaining experience of the construction industry working for large scale residential builder; Plantation Homes. There she assisted clients through the process of building a new home from the first point of contact right through the construction process. The information this gave Judy was a perfect start, formulating an understanding of the construction & new home build process and especially in processing design changes through draftspeople, council, estimators, colour consultants & trades.
She then gained her experience through working in Kitchen Companies in Australia until moving to London to advance her design skills and career. In London, Judy worked for Alno Kitchens in their Premier Flagship store (Halcyon Interiors) in Central London for four years. There she designed and project managed kitchens for her clients ranging from Architects to individual clients for London apartments to large homes in the UK to holiday homes in the south of France.
Working inside cabinetmaking firms, gave Judy inside information that sets her apart from other Interior Designer professionals. From working for high-end boutique interiors companies, to contracting to cabinetmakers builders & renovation companies, Judy founded Interior Blank 4 years ago as she wanted to give her clients an experience where she could design for them and not just sell to them. She wanted to offer the client a different experience in Australia that was more similar to the services available to her clients in Europe.
Ongoing professional development is important to Judy, who is continually improving her knowledge base on the latest trends in the industry. She attends functions and trade nights to continually improve her contacts with suppliers and stay up to date with new product launches for the interior design & cabinetmaking industry. She has been trained in appliance specifying and sales through high-end brands such as Miele, Gaggenau, Sub-zero & Wolf, Siemens & Neff.
She is a member of the KBDI (Kitchen Bathroom Design Institute of Australia) which Australia’s premier specialist kitchen and bathroom designers’ association.
Whilst working in London for Halcyon-interiors (ALNO flagship store) her designs were published in Beautiful Kitchens Magazine (UK) and Kitchen Bedrooms & Bathrooms (UK).
Judy has travelled extensively and lived in three different countries to expand her career and her outlook on life. She now resides in Northern NSW with her partner and their Labrador retriever. She enjoys rural home life and is currently building & renovating their own home using mostly salvaged materials. She is a nature lover, green living enthusiast, loves DIY and up-cycling and weekends at home cooking and pottering around the home and in the garden.
